This guide describes how to install Greenrain Automation Lite Server software.
Minimum pre-requisites
Windows 10 (on PC) or windows server 2012 (on Server).
4 GB Ram.
Greenrain messenger is installed and configured on the same machine you intend to install GAL server software.
The latest version of .Net framework pre-installed.
Download and installation instructions
Application download and installation
Download the software installer from this link http://greenrain.biz/download/AutomationLiteSetup.exe.
Right-click and run the installer with Run as administrator option.
Click next on the welcome screen.
Choose install directory, by default it installs to your primary OS drive\Program files\Greenrain……, however, you may change this install directory by clicking browse. If this is an update to the existing version, ensure to select the same directory the older version was installed in.
Click install on the confirmation window.
Observe the installation and wait till completion screen pops up.
Click finish on the completion window. If you would like the application to open and configure right away, you can check the ‘Launch’ button before clicking finish.
Enter the license key when prompted to.
If you are launching the application at a later time or relaunch it for any other reason, you can launch it from the directory you installed the application to. Double-click the exe file named gals.exe. You may also want to create a shortcut for this exe file to your desktop. If necessary, right-click and run as administrator.
Enter the below details as required -
General settings -
Workflow interval - The desired interval in seconds you would like the server to poll the given upload and download process.
Zip transactions before upload - Application will zip the XML file before uploading if this setting is selected. The ZIP file name is the same as the XML file name. This box is unchecked by default.
Unzip transactions after download - Application will unzip XML files from corresponding downloaded ZIP files after downloading it if this setting is selected. This box is unchecked by default.
Upload folder path - The location from which XML files will be uploaded to Post Office. Further subfolders will be automatically created in this directory.
Download folder path - The location to which files will be downloaded and saved from the Post Office. Further subfolders will be automatically created in this directory.
Post Office settings -
This is automatically pulled in from Greenrain Messenger.
To add or remove Post Office logins please add/remove them from Messenger and it will auto-update here.
Select the Post Office login you would like to use for the upload and download process.
Click Save and the window closes.
Service installation
Service installation is a mandatory step following application installation, proceed below as shown to complete service installation.
Navigate to the default installation directory, right-click and install ‘Install Greenrain Automation Lite Server.bat’ with run as administrator option.
The installation will occur in the background and a cmd prompt will appear showing installation status and asking you to press any ket to continue. Press any ket to continue.
Navigate to Windows services console via Windows run → services.msc OR Windows search → services app. Find the service named Greenrain Automation Lite Server and press the play button as shown. Ensure that the service is in running state and startup type set to automatic. If per institution policy services are to be run under designated service accounts, kindly populate them here in this step and restart the service.
If application parameters OR settings are being changed for a later time, please ensure that this service restarted for changes to take effect. The service can be restarted by using the following button. It is mandatory to restart the service for changes to take effect.
Log files
Log files can be found in the following location \Users\Public\Documents\Greenrain\AutomationLite\Log. Log files are particularly useful for troubleshooting invalid uploads and also may be requested by Greenrain troubleshooting team for investigation.
Software update/reinstallation
If you already have a version of Greenrain Automation Lite Server running and you wish to update to a newer version, the below steps are mandatory.
Turn Greenrain Automation Lite Server service to 'Stopped' state. Click on stop service button and the status of the service will change to a stopped state.
Follow the installation instructions from the beginning of this manual and ensure to select the exact same location directory the previous version was installed on. The installer will clean reinstall the new software replacing the old files.
